This time, the scientists of the country created the technology to unlock the phone by showing their teeth. This technology can be used on mobile and other handheld devices. Scientists say a special map has already been created for him. The app will collect biometric information using a mobile camera. While other apps unlock the phone by looking at the face, this app has the advantage of unlocking the phone using human teeth.

The study to unlock the phone using teeth has been named Deepteeth. The study was published by Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani's Geetika Aurora, Rohit K Bharadwaj, and Kamalash Tiwari. "Mobile phone & other handheld devices can be used for authentication by taking pictures of human teeth," it said.

Explaining the effectiveness of this app, the scientists said that the Region of Interest (ROI) is differentiated using markers. From there it is enhanced using Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization. This makes the clarity of the image better.

Scientists further claim, 'This method can be used to unlock the phone more accurately. How the phone's authentication will work through a picture of the teeth is explained in the research paper through a diagram. First, this app will take pictures of your teeth using the front camera of the mobile phone. This is followed by ROI extraction and enhancement of the image. And then this app will enrol/verify and identify by extracting the deep feature.

In the next step, the authentication work will start. This app will match the enrolled extraction with the database. This app will then decide if the image matches the database. Scientists also say that even if you have never used a toothpick to recognize a person before, it is possible to use a toothpick to recognize a person very successfully.
