The auction is the world's first SMS. The SMS was auctioned off by Vodafone earlier this week. At first, Vodafone announced that SMS was NFT. And then it is auctioned off. NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token. In terms of technology, the hot topic, which is the most accepted, is considered as NFT.
What is NFT?
Non Fungible Token is a digital asset. That is completely different from the others. Maybe it's a song, picture, movie, social media post or something else. Through the net which is completely different from others.
The world's first message sold for 107,000 euros. In Indian rupees which is about 91 lakh rupees. It was not immediately clear who bought the message. The name of the person was not made public on behalf of the organization. According to Vodafone, the man bought it to keep as a replica of the SMS.
Vodafone, meanwhile, said the proceeds from the sale of the message would be donated to the UN refugee agency. The name of that agency is UNHCR. The money has been used for those living in various refugee camps.
This has been reported on Vodafone's official Twitter handle. "Our first NFT was sold. The auction was held after the announcement of the world's first SMS as NFT or Non-Fungible Token. It was sold for 107k euros. We will donate it," they wrote on Twitter.
The world's first (1st) SMS was sent on December 3, 1992. And it was transmitted over the Vodafone network. The SMS read "Merry Christmas". An employee of Vodafone received the message. His name is Richard Jarvis.

The Non-Fungible Token of the world’s first SMS was auctioned off for 107k euros. We will be donating the proceedings through @VodafoneFdn to @refugees.
A certificate has been issued to the buyer on behalf of Vodafone. Where the company's CEO Nick Read is signed. Vodafone has also created a detailed replica of the communication. That too has been handed over to the buyer. The entire communication system has been highlighted from the time the message was sent to the time it was received. It has been handed over to the buyer in the TXT file. And a PDF file was also reportedly given to the buyer.
