e-RUPI is a credit only and contactless instrument for advanced instalment. It is a QR code or SMS string-based e-Voucher, which is conveyed to the portable of the recipients.

Instead of sending money to a citizen's bank account, e-RUPI vouchers will be delivered to him

Who can use e-RUPI?
All Indians will be able to use this digital payment system.
How can this rupee be used?
Only the person in whose name the e-RUPI voucher has been sent will be able to use this voucher once.
e-RUPI vouchers can be redeemed without any card, payment app, internet banking.
Only the person in whose name the voucher was sent can use this voucher by showing his / her identity.
No app or internet is required to use e-RUPI.
If you have a mobile, you can avail the financial assistance of the government directly through e-rupi voucher.
Since it is a prepaid card, this money will easily reach the recipient.
This whole process will be digital. No money transaction will be required here.
What are the benefits of e-RUPI to the customer?
The Government of India has launched e-RUPI to ensure that all government benefits reach the common man
This digital payment system will benefit any project of the Government of India, starting from medicines to rations.

Which banks are supporting e-RUPI?
A total of 12 banks will support e-RUPI in India.
The list includes -
- State Bank of India (SBI)
- the Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India (ICICI)
- Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (HDFC)
- Panjab National bank (PNB)
- Axis Bank
- Bank of Baroda (BOB)
- Kanada Bank
- Canara Bank
- Indusind Bank
- Indian Bank
- Kotak Mahindra Bank
- Union Bank of India (UBI)
Who will make e-Rupi?
The digital payment ecosystem of the whole country will work to create an e-Rupee. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), the Department of Financial Services (DFS), the National Health Authority (NHA), the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and 12 banks will work together.
