Will Facebook, Twitter and Instagram be shut down in India from Wednesday? - Knowledge World
Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube are now a part of people's lives. It is difficult for many people to spend a day without these apps. Millions of people use these apps regularly. Now, all of a sudden if these social sites are shut down in the country! Tuesday was the government's deadline. Now the question is, will these social sites be shut down in the state from Wednesday! Social sites are being abused. And the Center had issued multiple guidelines to curb those misappropriations. The central government gave social sites three months to comply with the directive. That three-month period ends today, Tuesday. In that case, the jump of social sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram should be stopped from tomorrow.

The only Indian app has not followed the rules issued by any social site centre except Koo. They did not give any answer to this effect. As a result, the centre may be strict against sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. On February 25, the centre issued a set of guidelines for social sites. On the same day, the Center informed that social sites have to comply with the guidelines within three months. The rules that have been mentioned must be enforced within three months. But none of the other social sites except the Koo app followed the instructions given by the centre. One offensive post after another is on social sites. The centre was quick to close all those objectionable posts. The Center said that a case would be filed in the court against the poster and the concerned site authority for the objectionable post.

The centre wanted to raise awareness about social media content. Initiatives were taken to prevent objectionable content. Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar and Ravi Shankar Prasad made it clear that every social site has to abide by the guidelines issued by the Center. Otherwise, the use of those sites in India may be stopped. The Center also issued multiple directives on OTT platforms along with social sites. On behalf of the government, it was said that a chief officer should be appointed on every social platform. And that official must be a citizen of India. There must also be a chief who will coordinate with the administration. The authority of the OTT platform should also inform the Center about the complaints lodged every month and the steps were taken on its basis. Content should be divided into five categories - 'Universal (U)', 'U / A 6+', 'U / A 13+', 'U / A 18+', and 'Adult'. The parental lock must be kept for the last three parts. None of these guidelines has yet been adopted by the social app authorities. As a result, the complexity of this matter may increase further this time.
