Top 4 Pen Drive Tricks
Format as NTFS
Right Click on your drive
And Format it as NTFS
Formatting as NTFS increases its performance
If you use your Pen Drive in a Windows-only environment
It helps you a lot
But, if you use it on various devices like Mac and Android Devices
It won't help you
Increase Performance of The Drive
Windows has an inbuilt feature that you can use to increase the performance of your Drive
Go to the Properties of your Pendrive
Click on Hardware
Select the Pen Drive which you've connected
Properties
Change Settings
Policies
And Select the Best performance
Hit OK & you're done
Change Icons And Label
You can personalise your Pen Drive by Setting an Icon and Label
Choose the Icon you prefer and place it in the root directory
After that, create a new Text Document
Write the following in it
In the Label, section write the name you like
And in the Icon Section write the name of the icon you want to set
As in my case, it is " icon.ico"
After that, save the file.
And rename it as "autorun.inf"
Disconnect and Reconnect the Drive
So that, the Icon and Label gets applied
Use Pen Drive as RAM
There is a feature called ReadyBoost in Windows which helps you to use your Pen Drive as RAM
Go into the properties of Pen Drive
Then Select ReadyBoost From it.
Select " Dedicate This Device For ReadyBoost"
And hit Apply
OK
Now, the Pen Drive is Being used as RAM
If You Don't Want to use your Pen Drive as RAM
You can do the Following
Go back into the properties
and ReadyBoost
Now select, do not use this device
Hit Apply and OK
Note that if you have enough RAM ReadyBoost will Help You
But, if you Have More than Enough RAM, it won't significantly help.
